Team
Horse & Rider...as
stated in the July 2005
issue:
These top horsemen and women
are joining forces to help you
become a better, safer rider through
Team H&R, our new interactive
program.
When Horse & Rider
began publishing more than 40 years
ago, our purpose was to provide
useful information and advice to
horse owners, especially those
working to improve their
horsemanship and riding skills. And
that's still our mission today.
We present training advice from
the top people in the
business---world-class trainers and
handlers with integrity who have the
horse's best interest at heart.
We've worked with hundreds of
trainers and clinicians while
preparing articles that help our
readers improve and enhance their
horses lives. Now, we're taking it
a step further by giving you the
opportunity to participate
interactively in this process.
Ten leading trainers and
clinicians are stepping forward to
offer advice, wisdom, and their
professional perspective to you, our
Horse & Rider readers.
These horsemen and women work with a
cross-section of breeds,
disciplines, and ability levels. As
members of Team H&R, they'll be
working closely with H&R
staffers to develop articles,
training tips, and solutions to
specific reader problems. Their
goal? To help you and your horse
reach your goals. Whether
you're a lifelong rider or a
newcomer (or somewhere in between),
you're invited to take advantage of
the wealth of knowledge and
understanding Team Horse & Rider
can offer.
Think of Team H&R members as
your virtual riding coaches.
They're standing by to help you with
your on-the-rail or down-the-rail
challenges-essentially anything you
find puzzling or frustrating in your
partnership with your horse.
Ask Team Horse & Rider
Here's how it works: Send an e-mail
or letter to the address listed
below, containing the following
information:
-Your name, city, and state, and a
daytime phone number or e-mail where
we can reach you.
-Your horse's name, age, gender and
breed.
-Your chosen discipline and a brief
statement of your riding goals.
-The number of years you've been
riding, and your self-described
level of proficiency.
-Your question: What's happening,
when it happens, what seems to
trigger the problem and how your
horse (and you) react when it does.
-Include a photo of you and your
horse, if possible.
We'll forward your question to
a Team Horse & Rider
member. While team members won't be
able to respond to every question
individually, a number of questions
will appear monthly in Horse &
Rider, with step-by-step
suggestions and professional
advice. On occasion, where
appropriate and logistically
feasible, a Team H&R member
may provide hands-on assistance to
resolve a reader's problem.
