2006/2007 BUILDING BLOCK SERIESTM
Part One of our Building Block
Series TM, we
are offering four one day clinics to
be held in January, February, March
and April to include discussion and
demonstrations on what to do with
your yearling in preparation for his
career under saddle whether he will
be sold, shown in yearling longe
line (halter horses benefit from
this too) or just to make the
transition to life under saddle
easier. Many people don't know what
to do so they don't do anything
making life traumatic when things
change so abruptly. We offer a
building block system that
introduces each step in stages that
is not harmful to their young legs
or minds. Careful attention is
given to not create problems on the
ground that have to be corrected
under saddle later.
This Yearling Head Start Program
will be split into four connected
consecutive lessons, January through
April, advancing each month. Last
year our Yearling Longe Line clinics
consisted only of the information
covered in Lesson 1 of this series.
This year we have expanded the
program to include advanced
instruction giving you all the tools
necessary to get you and your
horse to the show ring. After
attending all four monthly lessons
and doing your homework, you and
your horse will be quite presentable
for show or sale! Those buying
the four lesson package have first
preference...other openings will be
sold as they are available.
Private 'catch-up' lessons also
available.

WE ARE REPEATING THE FOLLOWING
CLINICS MONTHLY
NOTE: Some of the dates are back to
back, Saturday and Sunday, if you're
interest in more than one type of
clinic. See Calendar Overview
below.
Part Two in our Building Block
Series, we are offering four one day
clinics in November, December,
January, and February to include
discussion and demonstrations on
getting your yearling or two year
old ready to ride. These clinics
will begin with a review of the
steps followed in Part One, our
Yearling Head Start series, and
continue on with sacking out,
biting, saddling and teaching your
horse to move and hold himself like
a pleasure horse without the added
weight of a rider. He will learn to
follow his head and give to pressure
while learning to jog and lope like
a show horse while free longing in
the roundpen. Finally we will
demonstrate how the lessons learned
in Part One help with the transition
from the longe line to the first few
rides. Trainers love going on
with the horses that have gone
through this program because they
are so much more advanced than those
that have not been worked with.
Each of the clinics in this series
will cover the same information.

Part Three in our Building Block
Series, we are offering three one
day clinics in January, February and
March to include discussion and
demonstrations on gaining control
over all the parts of your horse's
body through your hands and legs in
a building block program from which
every other area of training is
based. We will teach you how to
gain control over your horse's front
end, middle and hind quarters
using the natural mechanics of the
horse. It gives the rider an
understanding of 'cause and effect'
in how they set their horses up to
do what they want so they can stop
sabotaging themselves without
knowing they're doing it. Horses
participating in this clinic should
be broke enough to ride around
safely but don't need to know a
lot...however, older horses
lacking the basics will benefit
too. Each of the clinics in this
series will cover the same
information.

We are offering three one day
clinics in January, February
and March designed for show horses
that are more broke but need 'fixing
up' in various areas. Subject
matter will be limited to pleasure
horses but those interested in other
events will benefit since the same
mechanics apply to all. We'll
analyze each horse and show what can
be done to improve their
performance.
